If you have decided to buy the program, you can buy it in the "Purchase" section of our website.

To buy the program using PayPal you should fill in the given form: type your name, country, city/town and your e-mail; select the program version you want to buy. Then click on "Buy now" and pay for the order with PayPal according to its terms.

Moreover, you can buy the program using Share-It. Just click on the name of the desired program and you will be transferred to the program's page on Share-It where you can buy it. Using Share-It you can pay for the program with a credit card, WebMoney, wire transfer or check.

As soon as we receive your payment, we will send you an email with a precise instruction on how to install and register the program. Please follow these instructions when installing and registering the program. At first, you should download Tile3D installation file using the link from the email and install it on the PC where you will work with the program. Then you should register the Tile3D. In order to do that, just fill in the registration form on our website: http://www.tile3d.com/en/reg/. After that within 1-2 business days we will send a serial key to the email that was specified in the registration form, using that key you will be able to register the program.

2. Do you provide training for Tile3D users?

No, we don't, because there is no need in it. Tile3D is easy to use and has a user-friendly interface. An average designer or tile sales assistant will quickly master the program using the program's demo and video tutorials. Moreover, in Tile3D you can open a manual by pressing F1 button.

Some Tile3D don't find time for a more detailed study of all Tile3D functions. But when they need to create a complex non-standard project with many details they may experience some difficulties. If you want to avoid that, we suggest you to do the following:

Download Tile3D Demo from the Downloads section on our website and install in on any PC that matches System requirements.

On the same webpage you can also download video tutorials for Tile3D. The main video tutorial is called ‘Basic principles of work in Tile3D’. Please view it from the beginning to the end. It will give you an idea of the program purpose and main functions. Other video tutorials show some program functions in detail.

Start Tile3D Demo and repeat all operations shown in video tutorials

In the manual you’ll find a detailed description of each Tile3D function. Therefore it could be really useful to read it. You can easily open the manual by pressing F1 button.

Start creating simple projects with standard tile layouts. Then try to create a project of your own bathroom. After that you can try to create more and more complex projects, lay tiles at an angle, add decorative elements to your tile layouts, etc.

Add several 3D objects (sanitary ware, mirror, furniture) to your project. Learn how to work with a block editor, create a few blocks and podiums of different shape. That will allow you to master the program and easily create even complex projects.

3. How to avoid problems with graphics in Tile3D

At first please check System requirements for Tile3D software.

If you are planning to use Tile3D software on a laptop, please make sure that it has a discrete (external) graphics card.

We strongly DO NOT recommend using Tile3D software on laptops with integrated graphics cards, because they do not support all OpenGL modes correctly (Tile3D software uses OpenGL as a graphics platform).

Using OpenGL Extensions Viewer please make sure that your graphics card supports OpenGL v. 1.5 or higher.

It is recommended to use a graphics card not worse than AMD Radeon HD *500 Series, R7 *40 Series or a similar nVidia graphics card with not less than 512 MB memory.

Moreover, it is necessary to check if you have installed the original driver for your graphics card. If not, you should install it. In order to do that, you should download the latest driver for your graphics card from the graphics card manufacturer’s website and install it on your PC.

It is also necessary to pay attention to the following graphics card settings:

  • "Anisotropic Filtering" → "Use Application Setting" — should be enabled
  • "Adaptive Anti-Aliasing" — should be disabled (this is very important!)

Please remember that some applications can automatically change graphics card settings. Therefore, you shouldn’t give them permission to do it.

In order to check how your graphics card works with Tile3D, please download and install Tile3D Demo, create a simple project, lay tile on walls, place 3D objects and use the following visualization functions:

  • Select "File" → "System settings" → "General" and increase anti-aliasing value to "aa4x"
  • Turn on bump mapping and shine on objects by clicking on the corresponding buttons in the lower-left corner of the program’s window

If you have encountered some problems with graphics while working in Tile3D, e.g. it is impossible to select some surfaces by double clicking on them, textures and materials are displayed incorrectly, grid and coordinates disappear when you edit a contour or a surface, it is impossible to lay the selected tile on a surface, etc., please check the above mentioned recommendations or contact us at info@tile3d.com

4. I have bought Tile3D+Render, but I don’t know how to create photorealistic images of my projects

In order to get high quality visualization of your project using Tile3D+Render, you should perform the following steps.

First of all, if you add tile textures to the program by yourself, please note that low quality tile textures will look low quality even after rendering. Therefore, it is recommended to use only high resolution textures (at least 10pix per 1 cm, JPG file format, 24 bit RGB color model).

When your project is ready it is recommended to use some functions that improve visualization (these functions are available only for Tile3D 6.0 users):

  • Select "File" → "System settings" → "General" and increase anti-aliasing value to "aa4x".
  • Turn on bump mapping and shine on objects by clicking on the corresponding buttons in the lower-left corner of the program’s window.
  • Use "Light source settings" button to adjust the level of room lighting from two cameras (orthogonal camera and perspective camera).
  1. Function "Mode" → "Visualization"
    After you select "Mode" → "Visualization" the "Visualization settings" window will appear. After adjusting visualization settings click “Display image”. Then you’ll be able to adjust image clarity and save the image in BMP format (by default images are saved in Projects folder).
    Using POV-Ray external render you can get high quality images of your project.
  2. Function "Mode" → "External render" (this function is available only for Tile3D PROF+RENDER users).
    After you select "Mode" → "External render" the rendering settings window will appear. In order to learn more about rendering settings you can download a video tutorial "How to work with Render function" in "Downloads" section or read user manual.
    After adjusting all necessary rendering settings please click "Export project to render format" and "Start render".
    Rendering speed depends on CPU characteristics and rendering settings. The more cores your CPU has, the faster will be the speed of rendering. However, the higher are rendering settings, the slower will be the speed of rendering.
    In rendering result window you can save the image in bmp, jpg, png format.

5. During the export to Pov-Ray the following error message appears: "file access denied "

This happens due to the problem with access rights.

The error can be eliminated in one of the following ways:

  1. You can uninstall the program, delete all program directories and install it again. When you install the program, you should right click the program's installation file and select PROPERTIES. In application properties window, go to COMPATIBILITY tab and check the option "Run this program as an administrator" in Privilege Level section. Then click Apply and OK to save the change.
  2. You can run the program as an administrator by right-clicking the program's shortcut and selecting "Run as administrator".
  3. You can run the program as an administrator by default. In order to that, you should right-click the program's shortcut and select PROPERTIES. In application properties window, go to COMPATIBILITY tab, and check the option "Run this program as an administrator" in Privilege Level section. Then click Apply and OK to save the change.
  4. The problem with access rights can be omitted, if you install the program in root directory C:\ .

6. The program has been registered, but now it is available only in demo mode. Why did this happen and what should I do?

Please check the program's HARDWARE ID by starting the program and selecting "Help" → "Registration". If HARDWARE ID has changed, then it explains the fact that the program is available only in demo mode.

HARDWARE ID can change if you:

  • change or upgrade your PC;
  • change or upgrade your operating system;
  • redistribute your hard disk space;
  • change one Windows user to another.

In this case you should re-register the program by sending a registration request to info@tile3d.com. Due to the above mentioned reasons you serial key could be replaced twice. If you need to replace a serial key more than twice, you should buy an additional workstation license.

Before sending the registration request you should start the program and make sure that the HARDWARE ID hasn't changed. If the HARDWARE ID hasn't changed, you should send the registration request.

Registration key is unique and tied to the HARDWARE ID. Therefore, it could be used to register the program only on one workstation.

7. Unable to register the program using the registration key. The program continues to remain in a demo mode.

This could happen due to one of the following reasons:

  1. You are trying to register the wrong program version. Please make sure that you are trying to register the same version that you have purchased. Moreover, you should specify the right program version in the registration request.
  2. At the time of registration your HARDWARE ID is not the same as the HARDWARE ID that was specified in the registration request. Restart your computer, run the program and make sure that the HARDWARE ID hasn't changed. This HARDWARE ID should be sent in the request.
  3. You have not enough rights to create a file with the key. In this case it is recommended to install and run the program as an administrator (for Windows Vista and Windows 7). Or after installing the program you can run the program as an administrator by default. In order to that, you should right-click the program's shortcut and select PROPERTIES. In application properties window, go to COMPATIBILITY tab, and check the option "Run this program as an administrator" in Privilege Level section. Then click Apply and OK to save the change. Moreover, it is recommended to install the program in root directory C:\ .
  4. Maybe you have copied the key not completely or incorrectly. Not all browsers display the letter content correctly. Please copy the key from the message more carefully using the keyboard (Shift + "Arrow").
  5. Microsoft Outlook sometimes displays the key incorrectly. Please do not use this application to receive and copy the key.

8. Is there a network version of the program?

There is no network version of Tile3D. The program works only on local machines.

If you want to install the program on several computers, you can buy additional workstation licenses. If your computer is in a local network, it is possible to open the projects that are located on the other computers.

9. How can I add tile to the program?

Tile database doesn’t change after program registration. Several tile collections and some other materials are initially placed in the database only to let users try the program in the demo mode. In order to add tiles to the database you should do the following:

  1. If you have access to "Collections" section of tile3d.com website
    In order to import new tile collection to the program, at first you should download it from "Collections" section of tile3d.com website using your login and password for authorization. Then you should unzip downloaded archive.
    Run Tile3D and select "Table" → "Materials". You"ll see a window with all materials that are already included in the database. Left-click the "Tile" string, then right-click any element and select "New element". A new string will appear. In the "Name" field in the right part of the window enter the name of tile manufacturer. Thus, you have created a subsection, which will all tiles of the specified manufacturer. Then similarly create a subsection for a tile collection. After that right-click the string with tile collection and select "Import". Select a Xls- or Csv-file (depending on whether you use Microsoft Office or Open Office) from the unzipped archive an click "Open".
  2. If you don’t have access to "Collections" section of tile3d.com website
    Tile3D PROF users can prolong the access by purchasing "1 year access to Collections section of the website".
    Moreover, you can add tile textures to the program by yourself. It is recommended to use only high resolution textures (at least 10pix per 1 cm, JPG file format, 24 bit RGB color model).
    In order to learn more about tile adding you can download a video tutorial "How to add tiles to the program" in "Downloads" section or read user manual.

10. About 3D objects in Tile3D

  1. I can’t add 3D objects to the materials database
    It is impossible to add 3D objects to the materials database. In order to add 3D objects please do the following:
    • Download an archive with desired 3D objects from "Collections" section of tile3d.com website using your login and password for authorization.
    • Unzip downloaded archive.
    • Copy a 3dt-file from the unzipped archive to Models subdirectory of the program's main directory (ex. C:\Tile3D_60\Models). After that the 3D object will be added to the program. You’ll find it in the right part of the program’s window after clicking on "Objects" button.
    In order to learn more about 3D object you can download a video tutorial "Using 3D-objects in the program" or read user manual.
  2. Is it possible to use in the program some 3D object that were downloaded not from your website?
    Basically, Tile3D uses 3D models in 3DT format. It is also possible to use some 3DS object. To verify the correct operation of 3DS objects and convert them to 3DT format, you should use a 3DT Maker utility. It is distributed and installed together with Tile3D software. You can find it the directory where Tile3D is installed.
  3. Is it possible to change the size of 3D object s in the program? For example, can I increase the height of the shower cabin that I have downloaded from your website?
    No, it is impossible to change the size of 3D objects in Tile3D.

11. There is a confusion of textures in the database, i.e. a mismatch of textures and their names

This problem usually occurs when users add tiles to the program by themselves and add too many tile collections without names. In order to avoid this please delete all tile collections without names and launch data optimization by selecting "File" → "Data optimization" → "Files of textures" and wait till the data optimization will be completed. If you don’t have time to delete all "wrong" tile collections, you could try to delete any unnecessary tile collection and then launch data optimization.

If a mismatch occurred in already saved project, you should do the following:

  • If you have downloaded Tile3D 6.0 before June 2012, please download the program from our website again and install it in Upgrade mode (during installation in "Select components" window select "Upgrade 4.0-6.0 up to 6.0......").
  • Launch data optimization
  • Open the project, then find subdirectory "Tiny" in the program’s main directory (ex. C:\Tile3D_60\PRODATA\Textures\Tiny), delete all files in this subdirectory and then save the project.

OR

  • If you have downloaded Tile3D 6.0 before June 2012, please download the program from our website again and install it in Upgrade mode (during installation in "Select components" window select "Upgrade 4.0-6.0 up to 6.0......").
  • Launch data optimization
  • Open the project and delete all "wrong" textures. Then right-click in the right part of the program’s window and select "Clear". Save the project. Open the project again, add and lay all desired tiles. Then save the project again.

12. Unable to load texture image file or texture becomes distorted after adding it to the database

If after adding tile texture to the database the texture is displayed incorrect or you are unable to add texture to the database, you should to check whether the image file extension is its actual file extension. Moreover, it is likely that the image was saved with CMYK color model, while texture files used in Tile3D should be saved with RGB color model.

The difference between CMYK and RGB is that CMYK color model has 32-bit JPG file. However, RGB color model supports only up to 24-bit file format JPG.

In order to solve the problem you can simply convert CMYK JPG file into RGB JPG file using any graphics editor (ex. Paint).

13. On your website I haven't found some tile collections I need. Some tile collections on the website are not full. What should I do?

We are trying to add on Tile3D website as many tile collections as possible. However, most of world tile manufacturers are constantly expanding their product range. Therefore, some tile collections may not be present on the website or they may become outdated. In that case you can send a request for adding/updating a tile collection at info@tile3d.com.

In the request you should specify:

  • Name of the tile manufacturer;
  • Name of the tile collection;
  • Links to the tile manufacturer/supplier website, when we can find tile textures and sizes.

14. How can I transfer my tile database from one computer to another?

Tile database is located in the DATA subdirectory of the program's main directory. Tile3D main directory is usually located in the directory C:\Program Files\ or in the root directory C:\.

In order to transfer the database you should close the program, delete the content of the DATA subdirectory and copy the content of the DATA subdirectory from another computer to your DATA subdirectory. Then you should start the program and launch data optimization by selecting "File" → "Data optimization" → "Files of textures" and wait till the data optimization will be completed. After that you can check if the database was transferred or not.

15. I'm using MS Office and I can't import tile collections to the program. During the import the following error message appears: "Invalid class string".

Please find out what MS Office version are you using.

MS Office 2010 Starter doesn't support OLE Automation. This technology is used to during tile import in Tile3D.

The error can be eliminated in one of the following ways:

  1. You can install MS Office 2010 Professional;
  2. You can install other MS Office versions that support OLE Automation;
  3. You can install OpenOffice and AutomateIt! utility (it allows Tile 3D to work with OpenOffice).

16. What are the minimum and recommended hardware requirements for Tile3D and Tile3D+RENDER?

You can find the minimum and recommended hardware requirements in the "System requirements" section.

Tile3D and Tile3D+RENDER have the same video card requirements. However, Tile3D+RENDER has higher CPU requirements, because CPU characteristics affect rendering speed. Therefore, it is recommended to use multi-core processors (for POV-Ray v. 3.7). The more cores your CPU has, the faster will be the speed of rendering.

17. While importing tile collection to the program the following error appears: «Index in out of date. Index: IDIDGroup»

This could happen because a tile collection with empty 'Name' field was added to the list of materials. Please delete the tile collection that you were trying to import. Then check if there are any tile collections with empty 'Name' field in the list of materials. If you find such collections, delete them. If not, delete any unnecessary tile collection from the list of materials. This should be done in order to simply move the pointer.

After that you should optimize texture data in the program. In order to do that, please restart the program, select 'File' → 'Data optimization' → 'Files of textures' and wait till the data optimization will be completed.

18. The program's window is not minimized by clicking on the appropriate icon in the upper right corner of the window

Delete the file Tile3D.ini (it contains information about program's window mode) from the program's directory.

19. About ordering 3D models:

If you are a Tile3D user and you need a 3D model that you can’t find in the "Collections" section of the website, you can:

  1. Send a request with a photo and dimensions of the desired 3D model to info@tile3d.com. Your request will be queued and processed after our designers will create all previously requested 3D models. Therefore, in this case we can’t tell you when exactly the 3D model will be created.
  2. If you don’t want to wait, you can order a 3D model for a small fee. In order to do that, please send a photo and dimensions of the desired 3D model to info@tile3d.com and specify that you want to order a 3D model for a fee. After that we will be able to tell you how long it will take us to create the 3D model and how much it will cost. The cost of one 3D model may vary from $5 to $15, depending on its complexity.
  3. Try to find the desired 3D model in 3DS format on other sources, download it and use it in the program. Before using a 3DS-model in the program, we suggest you to check it with make3dt tool. You will find make3dt.exe in the directory where Tile3D is installed. Moreover, using make3Dt you can adjust a 3DS model and convert it to 3DT format.
