Types of ceramic tiles

Clinker tiles

It is difficult to define clinker tiles precisely because of the heterogeneity of the existing types. It is produced from a mixture of selected raw materials, with the addition of coloring oxides, energy melter and annealed untreated clay. Ceramic mixture obtained by extrusion is brought to high temperature during firing (up to 1250 ° C) until the beginning of glazing. Tile has a relatively compact structure with a colored ground, usually neemalirovannym. In some cases, the clinker can enamel during firing, or to be covered by the "salt" (a thin layer of clear glass).

Application for extrusion molding process allows to make the tile and complex geometric shapes. For example, a tile, which is used in the construction of swimming pools (caps, corners, stairs, fittings, etc.). In terms of surface treatment different solutions can also be used: untreated surface, semi-bright, enameled, structural. For the outer lining of the sexes, exposed to strong mechanical loads (road), it is produced tiles with increased thickness, which is able to meet the required performance.

Clinker has high characteristics of resistance to mechanical stress, abrasion, the action of atmospheric influences, temperature. It is not exposed to corrosive chemicals, doesn`t absorb water, and it is easy for cleaning and maintenance.

The range of applications: interior and exterior floors, including swimming and other sports facilities, industrial floors, urban renovation, false-floors.

Tile type Cotto (Cotto)

Cotto (baked tiles) is a ceramic material consisting of clay, the solution chosen, which is forming, drying and calcining at temperatures up to 1110 ° C. This tile, which is a porous mass with a variety of shades, as a rule, is not emaliruetsya.

Tiles can be a traditional form (square or rectangular) and the most difficult (hexagon, rhombus, etc.). Different solutions can be used for the surface treatment, both traditional (natural handling, manual processing, polished surface, polished, rough), and the more modern (eg, surface pre-treatment). Tiles may have the most diverse natural color, which covers the entire gamut of red, pink, yellow and brown colors.

Cotto is characterized by low permeability, abrasion, resistance to compression, bending action of aggressive chemicals and atmospheric phenomena, increased service life. It is used mainly for internal floors, in buildings, new construction, and during the reconstruction and restoration.

Majolica

Also called majolica glazed faience or glazed terracotta. This double-fired glazed tiles with a porous and non-ferrous base, is molded by pressing. Mainly it is used for lining the interior walls.

Cottoforte

Cottoforte is a product invented in the mid 60-ies of the century. Glazed ceramic tile, molded by pressing, is produced by the method of double-fired at low temperatures. This material differs from the majolica mechanical strength derived from the compound in the mass, at least two clays with the addition of grog. The high strength allows the use cottoforte at facing the sexes.

Faience (white ceramic)

Glazed ceramic tiles are double-fired with a porous white base, molded by pressing. Intended for internal lining of the sexes.

Ceramic granite

Ceramic granite is a stand alone product, which has its original properties that distinguish it from other ceramic products.
