The timeTAULELL, S.A. was created during the 1960s, which was an important decade in the middle of the 20th century, a period of our civilisation in which technology was capable of reaching impossible goals such as the conquest of space.

The company, with the leading trademark TAU CERAMICA, has the capacity to produce more than 15 million square metres per year of finished product.

In total, we have a plant area of 350,000 m2, 110,000 of which are covered and house the manufacturing processes and office premises. We rely on a human workforce of 950 people, who are fully integrated at a professional level within the company.

Today, TAU quality, TAU marketing and TAU design are international values in the ceramic industry. Our product range is the widest and most diversified on the market, and we feel very proud to compete all over the world with our Spanish ceramic production.

For some years the company’s management has demonstrated its firm decision to use the constant improvement of the quality of its processes, products and services as a support for the company’s growth.

It was clear that this commitment was permanent when, in 1994, TAU CERAMICA obtained the Company Register Certificate from AENOR. This document guarantees the implantation of a Quality System in accordance with the specifications established by the international standard UNE EN ISO 9001, which determines the necessary requirements to guarantee quality in the stages of design, development, production, marketing and after-sales service. During follow-up audits of the Quality System, TAU CERAMICA has continually improved and incorporated new tendencies as regards quality.

Training and information are two of the key factors that have assisted the complete integration of the staff, together with the participation of all departments. In this way, it has been possible to develop and implant a Quality System that, by emphasising prevention and encouraging self-control, constantly aims to achieve and assess efficiency, and this is an objective of the development of the QUALITY MODEL at TAU CERAMICA.

Experience has proved that only companies with leadership mentality can attain their end goal, and this does not only involve recognition from outside the company in the form of a certificate, but the consolidation of a MODEL that guarantees the better use of resources, helps to reduce costs incurred by Non Quality, and encourages the development of a TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT strategy.
